Insp. Elton Hall of the Winnipeg police’s Guns & Gangs Unit spoke on Thursday about a drug bust valued at approximately $6 million.
Hall said the drugs were recovered from an apartment rented by a third party with the two suspects having connection to a large organized crime network. Hall remarked that the bust marks the largest amount of crystal methamphetamine ever recovered from one warrant. “Winnipeg is a small city and these criminals think they can come into the city without running into police or other competing criminal organizations. It’s rare that we don’t hear about these big shipments.” Hall said.
