Canada, France partner to buy historic land at Juno Beach following condo dispute

Canada will partner with France to buy land that was at the heart of a development dispute near the Juno Beach landing site in France from World War II, announced Veteran Affairs Minister Lawrence MacAulay on Friday. "Progress is inevitable, but some parcels of land should never be touched," he said. This area is where hundreds of Canadian soldiers died as part of the D-Day invasion.
