Staff Sgt. Grant Obst of the Saskatoon police’s Major Crimes Unit announced on Thursday that police will launch a search of the South Saskatchewan River, near the village of St. Louis, north of Saskatoon, for the body of Megan Gallagher. Obst emphasized the difficulty of such a search and explained factors like time and the water current could affect whether evidence can be recovered. Despite these obstacles, Obst remains confident that searching this area is the investigation’s best chance at finding the body of Megan Gallagher. He also revealed there are more arrests that have yet to be made in the investigation.
