Wild rice harvesting season celebrated by Curve Lake First Nation

Wild rice, also known as Mnoomin, is the star of the show this Saturday at Curve Lake First Nation. Wild rice is harvested throughout September, and the Mnoominkewin gathering is a celebration of wild rice and Indigenous food sovereignty. Daemin Whetung is a co-organizer for this event and joined Teresa Kaszuba on Global News Morning Peterborough to share the history of wild rice harvesting in Indigenous communities.
