Deer struck by pickup truck, driver not seriously hurt in Hamilton Township

A pickup truck driver sustained minor injuries after a deer was hit in Hamilton Township Wednesday night. Around 8 p.m., emergency services were called to Oak Ridges Drive near Oak Hills Road for the collision. Northumberland OPP say the truck was travelling westbound when it struck the deer. The impact of the collision sent the vehicle across the road into the opposite guard rail. The driver was brought to hospital with minor injuries. The pickup truck sustained heavy front-end damage. The road was closed temporarily for cleanup.
