Coverage gaps, crime hot spots key issues in updating Peterborough CCTV cameras

Updated surveillance cameras coming to Peterborough are the first step in a plan to combat gun and gang violence, police say. With five shootings so far this year in Peterborough, and two of them fatal, Peterborough Police says they're devising a plan to combat these incidents. On Friday, Peterborough-Kawartha MPP Dave Smith announced $185,505 to improve CCTV surveillance. Inspector Jamie Hartnett says it's an important step for the security of residents.
