FASD Awareness Month
Description
September 1, 2022
Four per cent of Canadians have Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder and 90 per cent of people with FASD also experience mental health issues.
Often, the conversation around FASD is focused on the challenges, which is why this year's FASD Awareness Month is about celebrating strengths.
Dr. Leigh Wincott, who has played an active part in several FASD diagnostic programs across Canada and is an associate clinical professor at the University of Alberta and a pediatric consultant at CASA Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health, joined Global News Morning.
