The provincial government has opened an investigation into two long-term care homes after allegations of negligence and mistreatment of elderly residents have surfaced. The West Island regional health board says it has teams on site at the Floralies facilities in LaSalle and Lachine to ensure the residents are well taken care of — and it has temporarily suspended admission to the homes as the investigation continues.
