No injuries were reported after a trailer detached from a transport truck and ended up in the middle of Elgin Street in Cobourg on Wednesday night.
Cobourg Fire Department crews noticed the trailer across from the fire station around 11 p.m.
Reports say the driver had been pulling out of the yard on Elgin Street when the trailer detached, sending it skidding into the roadway and crushing its landing gear.
Further reports say the driver had failed to complete a tug check to ensure the trailer was secure.
The roadway was blocked for several hours, but there were no injuries.
As of 2 a.m. Thursday, there was no word on if any charges will be laid.
