Russia denies Ukrainian attack on airbase in Crimea, says explosion was ammunition detonation

Russia's defense ministry said an explosion at a Russian military airbase in Crimea on Tuesday had been caused by a detonation of aviation ammunition, and that there were no casualties, the RIA Novosti news agency reported. However, the Russian head of Crimea's administration, Sergei Aksyonov, said on social media that one person was killed by a blast at a military airbase at Saky in the Russian-controlled Crimean peninsula on Tuesday. Locals heard several loud explosions and saw black smoke rising from the direction of a Russian military airbase amid reports the base was being attacked by the Ukrainian military.
