Fire sparks in Port Hope farmer’s field

Part of a farmer’s field has been destroyed by fire in Port Hope.
Just after 6:00 p.m. Monday, Port Hope Fire and Emergency Services were called to a field at the intersection of the 7th Line and Grist Mill Road.
Reports say approximately one acre of the field was destroyed as the farmer was harvesting the crop.
It’s believed the fire was started by a piece of farming equipment in the field.
There were no injuries reported.
