The Mass Casualty Commission is now on a three-week hiatus after testimony from some of Nova Scotia’s most senior RCMP officers wrapped up this week. It had been some of the most anticipated testimony of the inquiry – to better understand what went wrong in the Nova Scotia shooting and what could have been done differently. But as Callum Smith reports, when it comes to the issue of public alerts, it’s still unclear if RCMP would take a different approach if the same thing happened today.
