Church, Canadians have ‘collective duty’ to remember horrors committed at residential schools: Simon

Gov. Gen. Mary Simon said Wednesday during a welcoming ceremony at Quebec City’s historic Citadelle that the Catholic Church and Canadians have a “collective duty” to remember the horrors that were committed at Canada’s residential schools. Simon said she looks forward to hearing what further steps the church will take toward reconciliation.
