RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki appeared before the House of Commons public safety committee on Monday to testify about political interference by the Canadian government in the investigation into the 2020 Nova Scotia mass shooting. She denied testimonies by officers that she “promised” then-public safety minister Bill Blair to release weapons’ types to the public. However, she did acknowledge she tied the release of the weapons’ types to the upcoming Liberal gun control legislation.
