Residents required to leave multi-unit building after Port Hope fire

Residents were forced to leave their homes Tuesday after a Port Hope fire left an apartment building unsafe and unliveable. The fire happened just after 2:00 p.m. on County Road 2 just west of County Road 10. Major smoke and heat damage was sustained by the structure before firefighters from three stations put out the blaze. No injuries were reported but all residents were forced to leave. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
