COVID-19: Ontario has identified 29 cases of BA.2 Omicron subvariant

Providing an update on COVID-19 in the province, Ontario’s chief medical officer of health Dr. Kieran Moore said Thursday that 29 cases of the BA.2 Omicron subvariant have been detected in the province. He said more information is needed to determine if the subvariant is more virulent.
