The World Health Organization’s (WHO) regional director for Europe Dr. Hans Kluge said on Thursday the COVID-19 pandemic in Europe was entering a “plausible endgame,” driven by a “large capital of immunity,” built up by a combination of vaccine drives, a favourable seasonality pause, and lower severity of the Omicron variant.
