Ten transports were involved in a string of crashes in both lanes of Hwy. 401 in Northumberland County early Tuesday.
Crashes occurred from Port to Brighton, beginning around 1:30 a.m. No serious injuries were reported but a tow truck operator was taken to hospital when a transport he was attempted to remove was rear-ended by another.
Icy road conditions and weather is being cited as factors in the collisions.
