COVID-19 calls swamping Alberta EMS response prompts government action

On average last fall, no ambulances were available in Calgary and Edmonton up to 17 times every day, according to the NDP. A red alert emergency response crisis last week is bringing more attention to the strain EMS services are under in Alberta. As Tom Vernon explains, Health Minister Jason Copping has launched a committee that will look into both short and longer-term solutions to reduce demand on emergency services.
