White House says ‘consequences will be severe’ for Russia if they don’t take diplomatic path on Ukraine

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Tuesday that the "consequences will be severe" for Russia if they do not take a diplomatic path on Ukraine, saying the country would face "severe economic consequences" if they take a non-diplomatic route. She said Russian President Vladimir Putin has "created this crisis" by putting troops on Ukraine's borders, conducting exercises on the country's eastern border, and says "we're now at a stage where Russia could at any point launch an attack in Ukraine."
