Cindy Blackstock, executive director of the Caring Society, responded Tuesday after the government announced it had reached a $40-billion agreement in principle to compensate First Nations children. “Public pressure, and litigation and all of us paying attention has made a world of difference,” she said, adding “it is not time to look away and it’s not time for any of us to exhale.”
