Dr. Scott Gottlieb, the former commissioner of the U.S. FDA, said on CBS' Face the Nation on Sunday that he expects some areas of the country that were hit hard by the Omicron COVID-19 variant early, like Florida and the mid-Atlantic, to peak within the next few weeks. He also stressed on the need to focus on hospitalizations and ICU admissions over regular case counts.
