With the number of COVID-19 Omicron variant cases doubling every two to three days in Alberta, Dr. Deena Hinshaw said PCR testing will be reserved for priority cases and rapid tests are recommended for everyone else. She said the vast majority of people who test positive with a rapid test at home should take that as confirmation and not also be booking a PCR test through AHS.
