Sen. Josée Forest-Niesing has passed away at the age of 56, just one week after being discharged from the hospital where she was being treated for COVID-19. The Ontario senator was double vaccinated against the virus, but had an autoimmune condition affecting her lungs that made her “particularly vulnerable,” according to a statement from her office.
