Gotta catch ’em all: Why Pokémon card collecting is making a comeback
Description
November 20, 2021
Pokémon is the highest-grossing media franchise of all time, with anime, video games, manga and trading cards — which have almost always maintained a degree of popularity for 25 years. With timeless nostalgic value and a diverse audience, the frenzy to buy, trade and sell these cards is unparalleled, with some cards even selling for hundreds or thousands of dollars. Global’s Alexia Kapralos looks into how and why so many people are trying to “catch ‘em all” — in paper form.
