European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen said Wednesday that the European Union would “widen” sanctions against Belarus, targeting both people and entities. Further, she said the situation at the border between Belarus and Poland was not a migrant crisis but an attempt by an “authoritarian regime” to destabilize its neighbours.
