Canada’s Environment and Climate Change Minister Jonathan Wilkinson said Monday that money coming in from the private sector was lower than anticipated, which he said was the reason the developing world fell short of its $100-billion USD climate financing goal in 2020. He said to compensate heading into 2024-25, a new report jointly drafted by Canada and Germany has sought increased commitments from governments.
