Will Canadians need a COVID-19 booster shot? Some scientists say the current data doesn’t support it, but Moderna, which holds some of the earliest research on how its vaccines are performing, say we may need a booster by Christmas. In a Canadian exclusive on this week’s episode of The New Reality, Carolyn Jarvis goes inside Moderna’s Boston facilities as it fights to stay ahead of the virus and the variants. Plus, the Magpie River in Eastern Quebec is the first ecosystem in Canada to be granted personhood rights, joining a global movement using a legal revolution to save the planet. And as Krista Hessey found out, it was an alliance among a First Nation, the local county, and a group of paddlers that came together to protect the Magpie from development.
