The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Rochelle Walensky said on Thursday that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is working with vaccine makers Pfizer and Moderna to allow certain vulnerable individuals to receive a third booster shot of their COVID-19 vaccine to help improve immune response. Walensky added this is “especially important as the Delta variant spreads.”
