Canada’s Damian Warner has won the Olympic gold in the decathlon after polishing off his competition through the 10 events. It was the latest win for Canada on Thursday, with Laurence Vincent-Lapointe taking the silver medal in the first-ever Olympic women’s 200-metre canoe sprint. Lauriane Genest also won bronze in the keirin cycling, the first time Canada has medalled in the event. Crystal Goomansingh reports.
