B.C. Centre for Disease Control director of environmental health Dr. Sarah Henderson said at Friday’s briefing: “One of the most dangerous things during a heatwave is social isolation.” She urged British Columbians to check in on those with chronic conditions or who may live alone and that the heat can become “dangerously overwhelming without people realizing it.”
