Canada’s incoming governor general Mary Simon has had her first audience with the Queen as she met virtually with her on Thursday due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Simon, who will become Canada’s first Indigenous governor general, will be sworn in as the representative of the sovereign in Canada on Monday.
