Number of drownings in Maritime provinces continue to go up

The New Brunswick Lifesaving Society’s 2021 Maritimes Drowning Report notes that the drowning rate climbed from 1.1 per 100,000 in 2017 to 1.8 in 2018, moving the Maritimes well above the national average of 1.3. Alarmingly, the number of drownings increased 65% from 20 to 33 year over year. Nathalie Strugeon has more.
