Dr. Hans Kluge, the World Health Organization’s (WHO) regional director for Europe, said on Thursday that a 10-week drop in COVID-19 cases in the region had ended, and cautioned that the highly transmissible Delta variant is on track to be the dominant strain by August in the 53-country region.
