O’Toole says cancelling Canada Day means losing opportunity to challenge others to ‘do better’

Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole said on Tuesday that he believes cancelling Canada Day would mean that people will “lose the opportunity” to both “celebrate the great aspects of our country” and challenge others “to do better in the future.” His comments came amid multiple communities cancelling their Canada Day celebrations in the wake of an estimated 751 unmarked graves being found at a former Saskatchewan residential school site.
