May 21, 2021
Two of the five hikers followed and charged by a black bear while hiking on a North Vancouver trail Friday afternoon describe the experience to Global News. One of the hikers was swiped by the bear and needed medical attention for the laceration on their leg. Conservation officers have closed the area for at least 24 hours.
