Durham Regional Police say two people were critically injured after an “exchange of gunfire” between two vehicles in Ajax Wednesday afternoon that saw more than 40 shots fired. A Durham Region spokesperson said a man and a woman, both in their 20s, were taken to a Toronto trauma centre. A suspect vehicle reportedly fled the scene.
