China’s foreign ministry on Tuesday called a recently-announced plan by the Japanese government to release contaminated water from the destroyed Fukushima nuclear plant into the sea “extremely irresponsible.” The Japanese government announced Tuesday that it will release more than 1 million tonnes of the contaminated water into the ocean.
