According to Dr. Marcel Cypel, who performed the first double-lung transplant in Canada on a patient who’s lungs had been destroyed by COVID-19, the virus can shrink your lungs. In the case of 61-year-old Timothy Sauve, Cypel said the size of his lungs had been reduced by 50 per cent.
