Brooklyn Center Police Chief Tim Gannon said on Monday that he released the body camera video of the shooting of Daunte Wright, a Black man, in Minnesota, because he felt the community needed to see what happened and he wanted to be transparent. He also said the traffic stop that saw Wright pulled over and later shot was due to an expired registration on the vehicle. When officers ran Wright's licence they learned he had an outstanding arrest warrant.
