Top U.S. infectious disease specialist Dr. Anthony Fauci discussed the current trajectory of the coronavirus pandemic on Sunday’s episode of “Face the Nation,” saying he believes that some states pulling back on mitigation methods is “premature.” Fauci added that when COVID-19 cases start to plateau, “once you stay at that plateau, you’re really in danger of a surge coming up.”
