Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer on Sunday encouraged Americans to “confront” violence against the Asian-American community, calling such discrimination “despicable.” Schumer also said the U.S. “mourns with the families” of the eight people, six of them being of Asian descent, killed when a gunman opened fire at three Atlanta-area massage parlours earlier in the week.
