A massive and very late winter wallop is hitting a large swathe of the United States, with heavy snow blanketing Southern California, while destructive tornadoes are wreaking havoc in Texas. Jennifer Johnson looks at all the chaos, and what many hope will be winter’s last wild ride before spring.
