D.C. National Guard chief Maj. Gen. William testified ahead of the Senate on Wednesday that on January 6th, when the Capitol security perimeter had been breached by "hostile rioters," it took more than three hours for former president Donald Trump's Defense Department to approve a request for the National Guard to be deployed.
