Additional lanes aim to make Peterborough more cycling friendly
Description
February 25, 2021
Recently, the City of Peterborough announced that it was adding to its downtown cycling infrastructure.
Currently, bike lanes along George Street end at Lake Street. But on Monday, council voted to extend those lanes to Prince Street, and separate them from traffic with white bollards.
It’s part of a plan to make Peterborough more cycling friendly — something cycling advocates have been calling for for years.
And it’s that call that is growing louder as more commuters leave their cars in the driveway, opting instead to cycle to work.
B!KE Executive Director Tegan Moss joined Global News Morning Peterborough to discuss the issue.
