The debate around affordable housing in Peterborough takes another turn
Description
February 23, 2021
The debate around affordable housing in Peterborough took another turn this week, following a suggestion on who should oversee several new housing developments in the city. Right now, the Peterborough Housing Corporation, which is governed by Peterborough City Council, oversees almost all affordable housing units in Peterborough. But recently the Housing Corporation suggested the creating of a new, non-profit organization which would oversee at least six major housing projects on the horizon. Housing Portfolio co-chair and Ashburnham Ward councilor Keith Riel broke down the issue on Global News Morning Peterborough.
