A day after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced his government would launch a long-promised buyback program for “assault” or “assault-style” firearms, Conservative Party of Canada Leader Erin O’Toole said Thursday that his party does not support the legislation. He said resources should instead go toward stopping the smuggling of illegal guns into Canada.
