Alberta records 50 new cases of the U.K. COVID-19 variant
Chief medical officer of health Dr. Deena Hinshaw said Alberta recorded 50 new cases of the B.1.1.7. variant, which was first discovered in the U.K., over the Family Day long weekend, but no new spread the N501Y.V2 variant, which was first discovered in South Africa. She also explained why Alberta is not identifying individual schools where the variant is found.
