Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Thursday welcomed Vice-Admiral Art McDonald as the new chief of defense staff for the Canadian Armed Forces, adding that McDonald takes over “during an incredibly challenging time” but that the Canadian military “will be in good hands.”
