Giving the gift of play

Globally, millions of children are caught in situations that deprive them of the basic benefits and joy of play – from poverty, to war and conflict, to natural disasters. Here in Canada, job loss and economic hardship has also meant many kids have missed out on the essence of childhood – to play freely. Minna Rhee takes a look at how one Canadian toy maker and not-for-profit partners stepped up to fill the void this holiday season.
